Journalist’s murder: Media bodies seek investigation

“The murder of daily Dawn’s magazine editor points to the insecurity journalists are faced with,” says SAFMA

South Asian Free Media Association and Media Commission Pakistan condemned in a statement on Friday the murder of senior journalist Murtaza Razvi after torture in Karachi. “The murder of English-language daily Dawn’s magazine editor who, according to his family, did not have any personal enmity, once again points to the insecurity journalists are faced with,” SAFMA Secretary General Imtiaz Alam and MCP President Muhammad Ziauddin said in a statement. They demanded a through probe into Razvi’s murder. The culprit should be brought to book they said.
