Holidays marred: 3 dead, 2 injured in traffic collision

HYDERABAD: The car carrying a family hailing from Karachi’s Korangi area collided with a truck at a notorious curve near Jhirk town on Sunday. Umair, 23, and Sumair, 21, died on the spot, while Ahmed, 25, died on his way to hospital. The family was reportedly going for an outing to Keenjhar Lake in Thatta, but veered off course and headed towards Hyderabad. Sajjad, one of two who injured people from the accident said that they strayed on the National Highway. The driver of the truck managed to escape but police impounded the vehicle and has registered an FIR against its owner FIR on Sajjad’s complaint.
