Revenue collection: 70 per cent of target met

Bahawalpur division has recovered a little over 70 per cent of its revenue target for the current year, Board of Revenue (BoR) judicial member Captain (retd) Jahanzeb Khan was told at a meeting on Thursday.


The meeting was told that the revenue collected by end of March amounted to Rs1.92 billion – Rs441,315,188 in stamp duty, Rs160,180,480 in registration fee, Rs93,131,401 in capital value tax, Rs700,061,477 in mutation fee, Rs429,810,519 in abiana (irrigation tax) and Rs101,312,940 in agricultural income tax.

Capt (retd) Jahanzeb Khan directed the officials to prioritise the recovery drive and ensure that the target was met before the end of the fiscal year.

Khan was later briefed about the performance of district task force for the attestation of mutation and registration. He was told that all assignments from July 2001 till date had been completed.
