Karachi Motocross madness: Flying without wings

Published: April 8, 2012

KARACHI: Four foreign freestyle motocross riders performed their extraordinary stunts for a cheering crowd at the Moin Khan Stadium in Karachi on Saturday night.

Wheels that usually grip roads were seen soaring in the air in an exceptional event that took place amid a jam-packed stadium of excited onlookers.

One of the highlights of the night was a stunt where the rider took to the sky with the Pakistani flag. Later, Ali Azmat gave a live performance at the event and a beautiful display of fireworks was the cherry on top. The event was very successful and was greatly appreciated by spectators who felt that similar events should happen more frequently in the country.

This city has become so big and diversed that it has something for everybody. Even no wonder you see such events happening in parallel with the target killings, blasts etc On the other side I see a widening gap between the elites and the poor of this city…

Fantastic event! Never imagined I would witness such a thing in our home city. Riders from south Africa, Czech republic, new Zealand, and Belgium showing their skills! Pakistan is safe for all international sporting events. Bring back our cricket also! Thank you Red Bull for showing the positive image of Pakistan!Recommend

Really an amazing event, told the world Pakistan can organize world class events. I liked the venue with a tall building behind giving it an international look.
