‘Obama is a terrorist, not Hafiz Saeed’

Published: April 5, 2012

President LBA says America challenged Pakistan's honour by declaring Saeed a terrorist.

LAHORE: President Lahore Bar Association (LBA) Chaudhary Zulfiqar Ali, while condemning the $10 million United States (US) bounty on Jamaatud Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed, has said that Saeed was not a terrorist but rather American President Barack Obama himself was a terrorist.

Addressing the general house of the LBA on Thursday, Ali said that America challenged Pakistan’s honour by declaring Saeed a terrorist.

He was addressing the lawyers at Aiwan-e-Adl in connection with the unscheduled loadshedding, sectarianism in Gilgit, murder of a lawyer Abdusatar Gill in Haroonabad and against the injuries sustained by another lawyer Rao Ashfaq during a robbery at Nawankot.

The lawyers also observed a strike on the call of Punjab Bar Council and Lahore Bar Association, and boycotted the courts.

Ali said that bloodshed, anarchy, starvation and bewilderment have prevailed in the country and neither the mosques nor any human life is secure owing to bad governance.

He added that the ruling party is ready to get electricity from India, but reluctant to get it from Iran and China. He further said that the lawyers will observe a wheel jam strike if the Nato supply is restored and inflation and loadshedding are not controlled.

Former president LBA Shehzad Hassan Shaikh and others also spoke on the occasion. They also condemned the bounty on Saeed adding that he was a religious scholar, not a terrorist.

‘religious scholar’ is often a code word for a terrorist or at least an extremist these days; just like being a charity doesn’t mean it doesn’t do terrorism on the side, it just helps to raise funds for terrorism without raising too much eye browse.

Its a shame that lawyers are dabbling in politics instead of doing their actual job. Boycotting courts is not going to help people only make their problems worse. These lawyers (and judges in superior courts) should stop politicizing the profession.

Alternatively, they can resign and contest the elections if they believe they can do a better job than politicians in running the country. This is the constitutional and democratic way.

Just like everyone in Pakistan seems to think they are an expert on Islam, so do does everyone think they are expert politicians.

    Ha ha!

Obama terrorist? Seriously? When a country declares a course of action (war) with the concurrence of its democratically elected senate, congress & president it isn’t terrorism. A few innocents may get killed, but, it is still a war – using violence to achieve objectives as a last resort, where all else failed. It may cause collateral damage in terms of innocent lives, but that’s not the objective or philosophy of war.

In contrast Terrorism is a philosophy of spreading terror, unleashed on totally unsuspecting, innocent people without having any one particular target or objective other than to terrorize. Terrorists (lovingly called Non-State Actors in Pakistan) are not representatives of a country’s intent. There is no legitimacy what so ever.

All the folks twisting and turning to support LeT and its boss have simply become blinded by hatred.Recommend

  • Apr 5, 2012 - 8:29PM

Saeed was declared a terrorist by Interpol in 2008, before Obama became president. Obama was just describing Saeed’s international standing.

As for Pakistan’s “honour”, that depends. Is Pakistan a state dedicated to shielding international terrorists or one dedicated to seeking justice? If the former Pakistan’s honour is intact; if the latter, Pakistan’s honour is in great doubt as long as Pakistan is suspected of withholding information leading to the arrest and conviction of international terrorists.

He Said who Started the world war 1 ? Muslims?
Who started the World War 2….. Muslims?
Who killed about 20 millions Aborigines in Australia?….Muslims?
Who killed more than 100 millions of red Indians in North America? …Muslims?
Who killed more than 50 million of Red indians in south America?… Muslims?
Who took 180 millions of African people as slaves and 88% of them are died and were thrown in Atlantic Ocean ?…..Muslims?
Who killed more than 1 million in Disputed Jammu & Kashmir ?…Muslims?
Who killed countless children, women & Innocent peoples in Philistine and Bosnia?…Muslims?
Who killed more than 50 thousands people in Gujrat riots in one week?…Muslims?
And Who killed thousands of thousands Innocent peoples in Syria,Iraq,Afghanistan on the name of war against terrorism?……Muslims?

    NOOO…They were not muslims!!!
First of all,you have to define terrorism properly..If Non Muslim do something bad,it is crime
But if Muslim commits the same, He is Terrorist

When Non muslims do the very same thing, they are never called terrorists? But they have different purposes for doing them, for international gain, for the interests of international bankers, one world goverment,
Muslims do it because they oppose this, they refuse to bow down to this and do not want to be involved in this system.
Anybody responsible for the killing of innocents is a terrorist. Terrorists have an agenda to wipe out masses. So its not just Muslims. Please ET do not always show a one sided story. Did those heroes of yours not commit those atrocities? You can’t claim those killers and squanderers as your heroes and then complain about others. That was my point. Amazing that a doctor missed this obvious point.

However, where do you get those grossly exaggerated figures from? For example the official figure of casualties in Gujrat is around 1000, not the dramatic figure of 50,000 as you claim, of which around 200 were Hindus; but what about the 50 Hindus that were FIRST burned by Muslims that started the riots? If you incite someone to violence by burning them alive then you may end up getting the violence.

As for many of today’s figures, excluding your vast many times exaggeration, there were no weapons of mass destruction nor there were so many people in the world hence the fatalities were lower. That has nothing to do with anyone’s religion. As for today, did Iran and Iraq not attack each other with any weapon at their disposal and did Iraq not gassed its own people both with numerous casualties?

Actually yes, Muslim tribal leaders in Africa used to sell their own people for money to Europeans. Read up on the history of slavery and Muslim and Arab slave traders were right up there. Slavery has been in Islam from the very beginning and it continued for a very long time, lucrative business that it was.

By making such statements and welcoming Qadri’s approach and supporting OBL, the lawyers of Pakistan have brought shame to themselves and to their profession. There are multiple ways of raising your objections in all the above cases. Pass a resolution in your association in decent language, advertise it, send it UN etc. The lawyer association is stooping too low.

    @RAHUL:
Hey buddy i never even discussed about Hafiz Saeed, why are you Indians so obsessed with this guy. I am discussing about the policy of the US towards Muslims. Unfortunately you are living in the dark ages and always think that extremisits live just in Pakistan or belong to Muslims community. There are Hindu extremists as well such as Bal Thackery and many others. Your mind is confined to just one space and not the whole reality.
As far as China is concerned well Pakistan enjoys a good relationship with China and they are far better than Americans Recommend

No-doubt this is truth and reality that Hafiz Saeed ain’t terrorist and ain’t involved in any terror activities against any Pakistan or against any country. This is US’ prejudicial attitude/policy especially for the muslims,Islam and Islamic world which creates terrorists and enemies of USA in the world.

Nobody killed that many Australian aborigines, 20 million people is the whole population of modern Australia.
Not more than a couple of hundred aborigines where murdered in all Australia.
I suggest you read, “Van Deimans land – the fabrication of aboriginal history”
    by Keith windshuttle.
