ISLAMABAD:

Another application was filed in the Supreme Court (SC) for the recovery of a missing prisoner on Wednesday.

The petitioner alleged that Jamshed Raza, aged 53, was abducted by intelligence agency officials from Bahawalpur Jail. Tariq Asad, the counsel for Raza’s relatives, prayed to the court to take up the case along with the case of 11 missing prisoners from Adiala Jail, since the incidents were similar.

Raza was one of the suspects in a case regarding the attempt to murder former president Pervez Musharraf.

In the petition, Asad said that a weak FIR was registered against the abduction and the culprits’ names were not included in it.

The petition further stated that Raza was acquitted of all charges levelled against him but was abducted outside the jail by officials of secret agencies.
