Husain Haqqani has excused himself from appearing before the judicial commission for the Memogate scandal hearing that was to be held on April 5, Express News reported on Wednesday.
Haqqani's lawyer, Zahid Bukhari filed a request claiming that his client had to undergo some tests in the US and would therefore be unable to appear before the commission.
Earlier, the judicial commission probing the Memogate scandal issued notices to respondents in the case to appear before the commission on April 5.
The commission had before that asked the Supreme Court to extend the deadline till March 31, so Haqqani could appear before the bench.
However, the court’s deadline to decide whether Haqqani could appear before the commission via a video link passed, so it set a new date for Haqqani’s appearance.
On March 29, the apex court extended the term of the judicial commission for another six weeks. It observed that though the commission’s probe is of high importance, it should conclude soon.

There is a reason it is called courts. You try to keep the ball in other court while the people are hung in middle.

No sure whether his actions are conclusive proof of his guilt or conclusive proof that he thinks the process is biased. The Commission would have appeared to be more impartial had it pursued the allegations against the Military as well as the allegations against Haqqani.

In every case there is a prosecutor, witnesses and neutral judge(s) to meet min standards of justice. In this case the witness is a foreign VIP who the judges are using as prosecutor and treating him like a king who never lied in his life. By accepting the conditions of Ijaz the court has made a new exception in its history. However, they have denied the same to HH. In addition instead of proving HH guilty the court wants HH to help prove him guilty or testify and provide proofs against himself. It is the right of HH not to help the prosecuting judges and let them prove their allegations against him. He is innocent till proven guilty.
The man is a cheat - do we need any more proof.
The question is, what does he have to hide?
As every one knows.. there are not much time for this govt left... till the new elections... .. just wait and see.. how many more leave the country......!!! ( looks like all pre planned... that he will go out of country and will not come back.). After all , still you can see.. (in the coments here ) three are innocent people , who are in his favour..... this story will never stop... untill ... all people will realilze , who is good and who is bad.

@HADI SAKEY: This is not a court notice. This is a commission. He has already appeared before the commission and have given an affidavit. Why is he asked to appear again? First, cross examine other actors such as Pasha, Kiyani and then create a case to summon him. Before that the PCO judges should not waste anyone's time, and nation's resources.
This was expected. He will never come back to Pakistan to give evidence. This is so sad.
Haqqani is a looser....
To allow him to go abroad was based on gentleman's promise that he will come back to Pakistan within four days from the receipt of hearing notice. In London too, he failed to tender his Black Berry, and other records as opposed to that the opposite party submitted whatever was demanded by the Court/ and Haqqanis Lawyer. Who is guilty and what is the truth is a matter pending before the SC/Memo Commission.

He should stay away. These courts and judges are biased and since they are going to convict him anyway why bother wasting time.
They go out of the way to provide security to an American stooge like Mansoor Ijaz but put in jeopardy the life sons of soil and patriots like Hussain Haqqani and Yasin Malik.
That guy most likely has a green card, why would he come back ?
