Marriage woes: Teenage lovers commit suicide

OKARA: A teenage couple in Okara committed suicide on Tuesday apparently over the girl’s parents’ refusal to a marriage proposal by the boy. Shergarh police said Akhtar Ali, 19, and Robina Bibi, 18, residents of Chak 28/1-AL, swallowed poison to end their lives. The police said Ali’s proposal to marry Robina Bibi had recently been rejected by the latter’s parents. The bodies have been sent for a post-mortem examination.
