Birds in flight: Flying to MA Jinnah Road for summer?

Eagles and pigeons constantly fluttering about amid the gunfire.

KARACHI:

If the residents of Lyari could not leave their homes, neither could the ‘wildlife’. Eagles and pigeons were constantly fluttering about amid the gunfire, too scared to find a protected perch.

Most of them flew towards MA Jinnah Road. Near Lea Market Chowk and Lyari, people kept hiding under vehicles, behind walls and behind each other. Even the ambulances were not given the green light by the police to enter the area. The people who were injured in Lyari had to be taken to Lyari General Hospital on wooden pushcarts. The hospital only offers first aid. However, some old women and children could be seen walking around unaware or indifferent to what was going on. A few people even held up a stuffed Panda bear, and left it in front of a police vehicle.
