KARACHI:

Cantonment Board Faisal was put on notice for April 23 by a division bench of the Sindh High Court comprising Justice Shahid Anwar Bajwa and Justice Nadeem Akhtar here on Friday.

The bench earlier heard Muhammad Aqil advocate, counsel for Latifi Cooperative Housing Society, which challenged the rejection of a revised layout plan by the board despite orders of the court.

The counsel for the petitioner submitted that the high court had, while disposing of a petition in 2010, directed the cantonment board to consider the revised plan under the relevant by-laws.

The board gave the undertaking to comply with court orders, but later rejected the revised plan on the pretext that plots had already been leased out and hence this could not be done.

Relying on an earlier judgment, the petitioner, Latifi Cooperative Housing Society, decided to go to court to challenge the decision.
