In a drastic move, the Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q) president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Tuesday dissolved the Khyber-Pukhtunkhwa wing of his party and relieved all office bearers of their duty. However the Provincial president of PML-Q Ameer Muqam has rejected the move, claiming the Party president did not have the power to undertake such a move.

Express News reported on Tuesday night that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had announced his decision after a consultative meeting with party senior leaders, including those from KP. They decided to form a temporary organising committee for three months

Speaking to Express News, Ameer Muqam said that by successfully fighting elections against other provincial political rivals he had proven himself and that 98 per cent of the PML-Q political workers of KP were with him.

He added that the step taken by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain was against the constitution of the party. "You do not stay with a party by force, you stay because you want to."
