LAHORE:

Sara Shahid of Sublime launched a new line of ready-to-wear fashion clothing line Simply Sublime on March 25 at her flagship store on MM Alam Road, Lahore.

The new collection provides a full range of pret wear, from printed lawn kurtas to silk and lace tunics that can be worn both in eastern and western settings. The edge of this brand is that it offers high fashion ensembles at affordable prices, and according to Shahid, even the most expensive item in the store does not exceed Rs8,000.

Speaking about her new line, Shahid says, “This season, I wanted Sublime to focus on introducing a new ready-to-wear range which would be in sync with spring/summer season trends. The idea is for Simply Sublime to capture the essence of high fashion in the form of wearable and reasonably-priced clothes.”

The designer states that there is a little something for every woman out there. “From an interior designer to a microbiologist, from a housewife to a mother-to-be, the Simply Sublime line caters to all. I am proud of the fact that Sublime has been focusing on innovation for the past five years and has been introducing a new line almost every year.”

When asked which specific clothing items have received the best response so far, Shahid says, “The two items that have sold with great speed are the colour-blocked kurtas and tunics and short to mid-length kameezes.” According to the designer, customers also found the colour-blocked shrugs, which can be worn over western as well as eastern dresses very interesting.

Although one commends the designer’s efforts to bring together the concept of ‘all under one roof’ in Pakistan, it is still hard to ignore that the label has too much going on under its name. There are at least three to four collections branching out of this brand and only time will tell how fruitful this diversity turns out to be for Shahid.
