Honour crimes: Two women, a man killed in two incidents

Amtal killed a day after she returned home after four months.

RAJANPUR/ FAISALABAD: Two women and a man were killed in the name of honour in separate incidents in Faisalabad and Rajanpur on Sunday.

Amtal was killed allegedly by her father Muhammad Nasir at their home in Chak 581-GB.

The girl had returned home a day ago (on Saturday) following a settlement between her family and the family of the man she had eloped with four months ago.

Rodala Road police said the body had been sent for a postmortem examination. They added that a case would be registered once the autopsy report was available.

In another incident in Rajanpur, Shazia Bibi and her alleged paramour, Afzal Malik, were killed allegedly by the girl’s brother, Ashraf, and his accomplices in Halwai area of Rajanpur.

Police said raids were underway to arrest the suspects, who fled the scene following the incident. The bodies have been sent for an autopsy.
