Pakistan won by two runs after Bangladesh could score six runs only from the final over bowled by Aizaz Cheema.
Enayet Hossain Siraj, chairman of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) cricket operations committee, told reporters on Saturday that Cheema had deliberately blocked batsman Mahmudullah in the final over.
He said the BCB would demand five penalty runs which if granted could force the ACA to reverse the result.
"We have seen video footage of the incident repeatedly. It is clear that Cheema blocked Mahmudullah deliberately," Siraj said.
"We will lodge a written appeal to the ACC very soon and will also give a copy to the International Cricket Council."

Let me ask another question here ! Bangladesh has lost 29 out of 30 matches to us. Their sole victory was a gift due to match fixing. Essentially, they have lost 29 out of 29 fair games. That is 100% losing record.
Furthermore, 2 months ago, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh in humiliating fashion in every match in their own country. 3 ODIs, 2 tests and 1 T20. That is again 100% failure against Paksitan.

After reading this news item I did review the incident on youtube. There was an incident but the law states that the batsman has to find his way around the bowler. If Mahmudullah is running right into the bowler that is his fault. BCB needs to educate its players on the rules and regulation. Infact the BCB officials are the most in need of education and mentoring so that they do not ruin the hard work of their players as in this case. Extremely deplorable act and very unsportsman like. More like gully cricket mentality.

From the video we can't be certain if Cheema had deliberately blocked the batsman There was only one run in the shot and Cheema apparently blocked the batsman when he was finishing the first run. That did not cost Bangaladesh anything! The umpire on the field had to decide whether it was a deliberate block, and he made the decision.Hope better sense prevails and Bangladesh don't file a complaint.

They are apparently seeking a five run penalty for this action. They feel their case is strong considering Misbah-ul-Haq's fine in the previous match, and Pakistan te...ams overall performance and penalty in the same match. Yet, it must also be strongly mentioned that Shahid Afridi, was also stopped in a similar manner by their bowler, when Pakistan was batting, and may be the cause of his eventual loss of concentration, thus getting out. The penalty clause if applied should therefore work both ways. And Bangladesh, although played extremely well and truly deserved more for their valiant effort, should not make this a case of sour grapes. There will always be a next time and given their resolve, they may yet become Champions afterall.

Ok, I agree you guys played well. But this seems to be overdoing it now. If something was not right then a protest should have been lodged there and then or latest the next day. Also, the on-field umpires never complained. Victory and close-defeats are part of any competition.
