Road accident: Five dead, over 40 injured

Five people were killed and more than 40 sustained injuries in a road accident late Sunday night.

JHANG: Five people were killed and more than 40 sustained injuries in a road accident late Sunday night. The deceased were identified as Razia Bibi, Zaman, Mohammad Muneer, Akbar Ali and Naveed Ahmed. Rescue 1122 officials said the injured were taken to Jhang district headquarters (DHQ) hospital where doctors discharged 15 after giving them first aid. The condition of the remaining 25 was described as critical. The accident took place as the bus carrying 72 passengers to Sultan Bahu Shrine from Jaranwala overturned at a sharp turn. Shorkot police said the deceased were residents of Jaranwala.
