Bilateral Ties: Gen Wynne to visit Sri Lanka

Great importance is being attached to the visit of Gen Wynne which is likely to boost bilateral relations.

COLOMBO: Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Khalid Shameem Wynne is arriving in Sri Lanka tomorrow on a four-day visit at the invitation of Sri Lankan Chief of Defence Staff Air Chief Marshal W D R M J Goonetileke according to a press release. General Wynne will meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa, the defence secretary, the chief of defence staff and the commanders of all the three services of the Sri Lankan armed forces. Great importance is being attached to the visit of Gen Wynne which is likely to boost bilateral relations between the nations. Pakistan is one of the countries that provided all-out support to Sri Lanka’s stance on allegations of human rights abuses during the civil war.
