Inflation: Index up by 0.44% during week

0.44% over the previous week for the lowest income group to 172.42 points.

ISLAMABAD:


The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended March 8, has registered an increase of 0.44% over the previous week for the lowest income group.


The SPI for the week under review for the above mentioned group was recorded at 172.42 points against 171.67 points registered in the previous week, according provisional figures from the Federal Bureau of Statistics.  The SPI for combined groups was up by 0.28%; up from 180.41 points in the previous week to 180.91 points this week.

Compared to the corresponding week last year, the SPI for combined groups is inflated 8.41%. During the week under review, average prices of 5 items registered a decrease, 25 item s increased and the remaining 23 items’ prices remained unchanged.
