KARACHI:
Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a 12-hour gas load management programme for two days this week for industrial users of Karachi because of a sudden drop in supply from the fields.
According to an announcement made by SSGC on Thursday, industrial and captive power customers in Landhi, Korangi and Bin Qasim industrial areas will not get gas for 12 hours from 7am to 7pm on Friday. Other two important industrial zones, SITE and FB Area, will not receive gas on Saturday from 7am to 7pm.
Earlier this week, SSGC announced that the utility was facing gas shortage from different fields and that all compressed natural gas (CNG) stations in Sindh would remain closed for 24 hours from 9am on Wednesday. In addition to this, the company suspends gas supply to CNG stations every Saturday.
