Police officials mourn three former colleagues

Funeral prayers for the two officials were offered at police headquarters in Garden.

ASI Raja Moin, and constable Ayub, who lost their lives during separate shooting incidents in the city on Tuesday, were laid to rest on Wednesday.


Funeral prayers for the two officials were offered at police headquarters in Garden, and were attended by Additional IG, Karachi, Akhtar Hussain Gorchani, DIG (East) Tahir Naveed, CID SSP Chaudhry Aslam and others. Moin was later laid to rest at Sohrab Goth graveyard, while Ayub was buried at Mohammad Shah graveyard in North Karachi. Meanwhile, head constable Ghulam Abbas, was shot dead within Yousuf Plaza police limits, and his body was sent to his hometown of Mianwali for burial. While speaking at the occasion, Gorchani said that it was a matter of great concern for his department that three policemen were killed in a single day. A meeting was convened at the Central Police Office, where officials discussed various strategies to deal with the situation.

ASI Moin, 47, son of Abdul Razzak, was shot when he was sitting outside his house in Ali town, near Super Highway, within Sacchal police limits. He had played a prominent role during the Karachi operation during the 1990s. He had five children. Ayub, 57, was shot dead while he was returning home from the Taimuria police station, near People’s Chowrangi in North Nazimabad.

Meanwhile, the body of another policeman head constable Ghulam Abbas who was gunned down in Yousuf Plaza police remits was sent to his hometown Mianwali for burial process.
