RAWALPINDI:

A verbal brawl between Government Degree College Satellite Town administration and its students turned physical after media personnel arrived on Wednesday.

Students came out to protest after College Principal Suriya Ikhlaq demanded Intermediate students to submit late fees with their application forms. The students said the deadline for the submission of forms is March 6 and thus imposing a file is “unjust”.

Upon the arrival of the media, students were cautioned against talking to them or face the consequences, which included a “permanent ban” from the Rawalpindi board. The students proceeded to stage a protest; the matter escalated into a physical brawl and the police had to be called in to disperse the protesters.

The students declared that they would no longer remain silent over the “highhandedness of the college administration” and warned that they would protest until the late fee surcharge is withdrawn.
