Tragedy Averted: Bomb defused in amusement park

According to police officials, the bomb was cleverly stacked in a bid to kill police officers.

PESHAWAR: Officials of the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) on Tuesday defused a bomb weighing 15kg hidden in a jute sack filled with narcotics in Tatara Park in Hayatabad, bordering Khyber Agency. The police received a call from an unknown number which provided a tip-off about a narcotics-filled bag in the amusement park. Acting on the information, the police called in the BDS and discovered the bomb decoyed by piles of narcotics upon arriving on the scene. According to police officials, the bomb was cleverly stacked in a bid to kill police officers.
