KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday summoned Pakistan’s Ambassador to United States Sherry Rehman on ‘immediate notice’, Express News reported.
According to sources, Rehman will brief President Zardari and senior leadership about the inquiry done in the Memogate case.
On the other hand, President Zardari is due to meet Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani in Karachi today.
The judicial commission investigating the Memogate case is recording Mansoor Ijaz's testimony from London via video link.
Ijaz, who is getting his testimony recorded for the third day today, arrived at the Pakistan High Commission in London with his wife.
Ijaz caused a stir in Pakistan when he wrote a column in a London based newspaper alleging that a Pakistani government official had asked him to deliver a controversial document to Admiral Mike Mullen requesting him to deliver a warning to the Pakistani military against a takeover.
Not only did he bring attention to the strained relationship between the military and civilian leadership in Pakistan, his allegations lead to the subsequent resignation of Pakistan’s former Ambassador to the US Husain Haqqani and a probe into the scandal by the apex court that casts doubts over the civilian government’s faith in the military.

If you are going to quote the Quran. Then I am going to tell you a warning saying to muslims given by the Prophet P.B.U. The Hadith warns us that socities where the law is reserved only fpr the ordinary people, while shielding the powerfull, suffer destruction. So please tell your beloved PM to obey the law and write the letter to the Swiss Authorities.

I am wondering why Tribune favors this dubious character Mansoor Ijaz. Every time I write something about this financial scam artist, Mansoor Ijaz, Tribune censors it. Now, we know that Tribune is an American investment to condition PAksitanis' hearts and minds, even though from a private group but quite possibly supported by Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) of USA, I am beginning to believe if US government supports Mansur Ijaz's shennanigans (chakarbaaziyaan)???? According to holy Quran, "it is Allah and only Allaho who gives honor and who gives dishonor to people". Despite all the hate mongering by the rightwing opponents of elected govt and democracy the system is moving on. Some in history are called usurpers of power and military dictators while the others are democratically elected people's reps. It is the God given honor that people like some and the others always have to use the undemocratic backdoor to come into power.
