ISLAMABAD:

In order to help and counsel graduating A’level students, The City School Capital Branch held an education expo from universities and colleges from Pakistan and abroad. International universities and colleges from USA, UK and Australia participated.

Students from Roots and Beaconhouse School System were also invited to attend the event. There were also many O’level students at the expo, to get an idea of how to plan ahead for after graduation plans.

Most students expressed desire to opt for Australia as the economic and political climate is stable there, promising employment after graduation.

Rida, a student commented, “Australia seems like a stunning and exciting place to live in, in addition to good universities and steady economy.”

However some students felt that the UK and the USA are classic choices and are safe bets.

Nadir commented, “The top universities of the world like Harvard and Oxford are in USA and UK, which indicates that they have higher standards of education there.”

A few students also admitted that family and friend network is also a pressing factor. Ali said, “I have a lot of family in New Jersey and lots of my friends are applying to America so I think I should apply there as well.”

The expo was organised by Planning for Life and counsellors and consultants were present to advise students. Local universities included Skans, Szabist, Preston and Riphah. International universities such as Manchester University, London School of Economics, Metropoliton University, Swinburne University, University of South Australia, University of New South Wales, Murdoch University were present as well.
