RATODERO:

The paramedical and clerical staff of Chandka Medical College and Hospital boycotted work on Friday to demand the transfer of medical superintendent, Dr Zulfiqar Siyal, and lodging cases against the officers who denied leave to an ill employee, who later died. All the out-patient departments of Civil hospital, Sheikh Zayed Hospital for Women and the nephro-urology ward were locked with the radiology department, laboratories and the pharmacy.

Hundreds of paramedics organised a rally from the Civil hospital to the teaching hospital block and shouted slogans against Dr Siyal. Only the casualty department was functioning.

On the other hand, a faction of the paramedics association who supported Dr Siyal also organised a rally in his favour.
