Khyber agency violence: One killed, five injured in blast

Two vehicles and eight shops were also damaged.

PESHAWAR: One person was killed and five injured when a bomb went off near a market in the Wazeer Dund area of Jamrud, Khyber Agency. Shakeel Khan, a senior official of the Political Administration told The Express Tribune that investigations revealed the blast that rocked Alarkhel Market was planted on a motorcycle. The injured were taken to a hospital, he said. Two vehicles and eight shops were also damaged. Khan maintained that there were no government officials or Lashkar members present at the time of the explosion. Meanwhile, three suspected militants were killed and others injured in shelling by security forces in the Meer Sar area of Tirah Valley, according to sources. However, it was impossible to verify the casualties as a military operation has made the area inaccessible.
