Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairperson Imran Khan is scheduled to arrive in Karachi on Saturday (today) at noon on a three-day visit.
Imran’s last visit to Karachi was in late December, and on December 25 he addressed a massive rally in the city. According to PTI secretary-general Dr Arif Alvi, Imran’s schedule includes a meeting with the Pakistan Business Council as well as attending a workers’ convention. “There are some other internal meetings as well, and he will also be attending my daughter’s wedding,” Alvi told The Express Tribune. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz chief and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif also met with the Pakistan Business Council on a visit to Karachi in December.

Congrats to Dr. Alvi for his daughter’s wedding. Its good that PTI is also meeting with business folks. It is very important to have them on-board. One of the reasons our economy doesn’t gain traction is because businessmen and industrialists have limited say in policy making.

Imran Khan knows how to bring people on board. He has taken a very inclusive approach. Business community is integral part of society and I am sure it will be a fruitful discussion. All the best.
