Three people killed in Quetta firing incident

Published: February 2, 2012

Gunmen opened fire on a car in the Mashkil area of Quetta.

ISLAMABAD: Three people were killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire on a car in the Mashkil area of Quetta on Thursday, reported Express News.

No one has claimed responsibility of the attack yet.

On Wednesday, at least 15 paramilitary troops of the Frontier Corps were killed, while 12 others were injured, when Baloch militants attacked four security check posts near the Margat coalmine area.

Banned outfit Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) had claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it was a ‘reaction’ to the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti’s granddaughter and great granddaughter in Karachi in the early hours of Monday.

Baloch rebels have been fighting since 2004 for political autonomy and a greater share of profits from Balochistan’s wealth of natural oil, gas and mineral resources.
