WELLINGTON: Zimbabwe coach Alan Butcher is hoping his team can find some inspiration when they face New Zealand in the One-Day International (ODI) series following a disastrous performance in the one-off Test. Although Zimbabwe lost the Test by an innings and 301 runs, they won their last ODI against New Zealand in a high-scoring contest in Bulawayo. Butcher feels the memory of that victory could help renew the players’ confidence in their abilities. “It will be in their minds – the knowledge that we can compete in a much better fashion than we did in the Test match,” said Butcher. The first ODI will be played on February 3.
