A three member bench of the Federal Shariat Court on Thursday issued a notice to the federal government on a petition seeking establishment of a state institution to check whether food being imported from foreign countries were pure as per Islamic injunctions.  Advocate Irfan Masood Sheikh, who filed the petition, submitted that source composition and certification of food ingredients needed to be included in the law in order to ensure compliance with the injunctions of Islam pertaining to halal, tayyab, athar and khalis.  The lawyer also pointed out that the “E numbering system” pertaining to the non-vegetarian section of homogenous codification needed proper examination in order to ensure compliance with the parameters set by Islam. The bench directed Deputy Attorney General Shaista Qaiser to answer for the government on January 30.

Here goes the real Pendora box and mother of all Muslim Issues. When animals & vegetables are geneticaly modified and given all sorts of suspecious fertilizers & medicines for health & growth to feed 120million & more mouths from the same resources. For example where does the Haram of the Swine that are jumping in Sugar Cane crops ends and the Halaal sweet sugar starts? The best halal will be then the only one you grew in your backyard to consume. People have no clue how fast & furious the animal & vegetable production & market is. Start fasting my friend, ofcourse on dates, roti & plain water.
