The protesters said that the irrigation authorities did not drain the water but instead diverted the canal water to the lake.
The residents of Sabzal Marri, Sirai Jan Muhammad, Haji Khan Thaheem, Kirar Buriro, Imam Bux Thaheem, Jalal Marri, Daem Thaheem and other villages in Tando Adam protested against the irrigation authorities on Tuesday.
Their villages were inundated when Soohni lake gave away.
The lake was created last year when the rain filled up the old river bed of Indus River.
The protesters said that the irrigation authorities did not drain the water but instead diverted the canal water to the lake which now gave away and flooded their villages.
They said that MPA Fida Hussain Dero had provided some water pumps to the people but they were not enough to drain the 16,000-acre lake.
