Bar Association elections: Campaign in full swing in Sialkot

Four in the run for the office of president.

Candidates for the offices of Sialkot District Bar Association (DBA) and Tehsil Bar Associations (TBAs) of Daska, Sambrial and Pasrur have stepped up their campaigns for the upcoming election on January 14.


Four candidates are competing for the office of president of the Sialkot DBA.

These are Muhammad Asif Bhalli, Shahid Mir, Nasir Waheed and Saleem Khan Cheechi. For the office of vice-president, there are two candidates, Nadeem Akhtar Butt and Sheikh Suhail Nazeer. Chaudhry Muhammad Raza, Bilal Ghuman and Muhammad Bashir Sulehria are contesting for the slot of general secretary.

Dilawar Hussain Goraya and Chaudhry Lateef Ghani are competing for the office of president and two candidates Nasir Ali Ghuman and Mian Nasir Ahmed for the seat of general secretary in Daska TBA.

While, Munawar Hussain Chheena, Muhammad Akmal Basra and Zahid Mehmood Goraya have already been elected unopposed on the offices of the vice president, joint secretary and library secretary, respectivel, as their opponents had withdrawn their nomination papers.

Chaudhry Suhail Altaf and Chaudhry Ashraf Sulehriya are contesting for the office of the president and Chaudhry Ilyas Ali Jathol and Rana Irfan Attari for the general secretary, in Pasrur TBA. There are 261 registered voters in Pasrur TBA. An Election Commission headed by Adv Khalid Mehmood Alva has been formulated to supervise the elections.
