KARACHI: Sindh Rangers arrested 83 suspects during a crackdown in different areas of Karachi on Monday.

A spokesman for the Rangers said that the suspects were arrested during patrolling of different areas and snap checking.

The Rangers also seized weapons from some suspects.

The suspects were handed over to police after initial investigation.

The situation remained tense in Karachi as the death toll from recent target killings rose to above 20 since Thursday.

Political parties traded barbs over the target killings blaming each other for the violence that has struck Karachi recently.
