KARACHI:

The annual youth and volunteer training programme conducted by the Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) held the last event of its three-day camp on Sunday.

The training camp was titled ‘Find the volunteer inside you’ and was the fourth of such camps organised by the PRCS. The aim of this programme was to focus on helping those in need. So far the PRCS Sindh chapter has trained more than 5,500 volunteers.

This year around 180 students from 16 schools of the city participated in the training camp. They were provided with fundamental training sessions on first aid, emergency response, fire fighting, camp management, youth awareness and given a brief guide and introduction to the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement and its principles.

After the students are trained their names and details are entered into a volunteer database and most of them decide to help permanently.
