ABBOTABAD:

Temperature in the hilly areas of Galiyat plummeted as the region received its first snowfall of the season on Tuesday. The prevailing dry spell was broken with a slight drizzle, coupled with mild snowfall around 4pm, which continued till the filing of this report.

The area has so far received around one inch of snowfall, which is expected to increase during the next couple of days, as according to locals the area mostly receives snowfall during the second week of December. Every year, the amount of snowfall increases with the start of the second spell, paralysing life in the area as most of the link roads leading to Ayubia bazaar, Nathiagali and other hilly areas are blocked with snow.

Officials also reported slight drizzle in Haripur, Mansehra, Battagram, Kohistan and Torghar, with Kaghan valley, Neelum Valley and hilly areas of Kohistan receiving considerable amount of snowfall.
