Relief: Utility stores cut prices of 278 items

Prices of pulses, ghee and cooking oil see reduction.

ISLAMABAD:


The government has reduced prices of 278 items, including pulses and edible oil, at utility stores in the range of Re1 to Rs18, which will take effect from December 19.


A notification issued by the Utility Stores Corporation on Saturday said the price of gram pulse has been reduced by Rs2 to Rs70 per kg, the price of masoor pulse has been cut by Rs10 to Rs75 per kg, moong pulse price has been slashed by Rs18 to Rs106 per kg and mash pulse price has been cut by Rs10 to Rs120 per kg.

In addition to these, utility brand of ghee and cooking oil will now be sold for Rs151 per kg, down Rs4, while other brands of ghee and cooking oil will be offered with a price reduction of up to Rs6 per kg. Prices of soaps have also been reduced.
