FAISALABAD: Gas supply to all compressed natural gas (CNG) stations of Faisalabad will remain suspended for three days from 6am on Thursday to 6am on Sunday. According to a spokesman for Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), there is a severe shortage of gas and to overcome the shortfall a load management schedule had been prepared for CNG stations for three days a week. He asked CNG station owners to avoid supplying gas to vehicles during the closure days and said violators would be handed down heavy fines, legal action would be taken and gas connections would be cut off. The CNG Station Owners Association protested against the weekly closure, saying this is not the right way to overcome gas shortage and the government should search for new reserves of coal and gas.
