Veena Malik denies nude photo shoot for FHM

Published: December 2, 2011

Veena Malik has stirred controversy in both Pakistan and India — and this time she is not even involved. An alleged photograph of the actress posing nude appeared on the Indian online edition of the international monthly men’s lifestyle magazine FHM on Friday, but her PR manager confirmed to The Express Tribune that the photograph is fake.

Shot with clothes on!

Speaking via telephone on Express News, Veena Malik admitted she had shot for FHM magazine, however the shoot was with clothes on, and none of the poses appearing on the cover were given by her.

She claimed that the picture on the cover of FHM was ‘morphed’ and that she would be consulting her media adviser and lawyer before taking any action.

“People must know that I am an actress, and any one can take my picture and morph it.”

Earlier, when contacted by The Express Tribune, Veena Malik’s PR Manager Sohail Rashid said Malik has not done any such photo shoot.

He added that Malik was unaware about the shoot, since she was currently busy shooting for two movies in India.

Rashid said that she has instructed him to approach their lawyer, on December 3, to deliberate a legal course of action with regards to the matter.

“Veena knows her limits. I know we have done quite bold stuff/shoots, those which are available on our website, but she knows her parameters. Yes we need to be bold for international magazines, but she won’t cross her limits,” Rashid added.

The picture – which was posted on FHM India’s website, Facebook page and Twitter account simultaneously – was cited as the cover of the magazine’s December 2011 issue.

The actress was shown naked, brandishing an Inter-Services Intelligence agency (ISI) tattoo on her arm, linked to text that says “hand in the end of the world too?”.

The magazine cover made waves online, with many speculating over the authenticity of the photograph.

A Times of India report quoted Malik while speaking during the photo shoot:

“It’s tough standing on one leg, while trying to cover up with one hand and running the other through my hair – you guys are going to pay for this.”

In a new Times of India report, Veena has been quoted denying she has posed nude for the magazine. She says the photographs have been morphed.

“I have never posed nude. I have never done anything like that ever. My manager and legal team is looking into the matter. We will take legal action against them.”

“The picture has been morphed. Its not me. Definitely not.”

FHM India Editor Kabeer Sharma denies her claim and says the magazine has proof of the photo shoot.

“The photo shoot was done in Mumbai on November 22. We have a video of the photo shoot.”

“I also have an email from Veena in which she says she has seen the photos and is happy with them, and that she’s looking forward to seeing the cover.”

Not only has the picture got the online community talking, Pakistani diva, Meera – who had earlier called Veena a “cheap girl” – was active on Twitter commenting on the picture:

TheMeeraJee Hhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaa OMG

TheMeeraJee what the f……………………

TheMeeraJee Completely mad woman

This is not the first time that FHM India has been accused of manipulating photographs.

According to reports, Indian actress Kajal Agarwal had accused the magazine of “morphing” her pictures taken at a photo shoot for the September 2011 issue.

    No bro. We dont value a woman by her sex life. We value a woman by the contribution she has done for society (Asma Jahangir, Bilquis Eidhi,Ruth Pfau, Fatima Jinnah) whos daughter she is( Benazir Bhutto) or her intellect( Fatima Bhutto, Maleeha Lodhi).

    And you cannot compare this with what that Egyptian woman did because she was protesting against ‘virginity check’, what is Veena Malik doing?

    Every absurd thing cannot be re-packaged as some one doing something honorable.

    P.S congrats…CNN-IBN mentioned you.Recommend

    Not a fake. She didnt deny the ISI tattoo either. Google Veena Malik in India pictures and you’ll see she’s wearing bare minimum in public everywhere – it was only a matter of time before she went nude. Gauranteed there will be a video of her coming out soon too. Veena and all cheering her for being “bold” – there are better ways to show off your femininity – by being CLASSY and ELEGANT and INTELLIGENT- THATS sexy. And to top it all she does this in India where everyone will now say all Pak girls are like this – great message you sent to our young girls Veena – indeed a great “role” model. She obviously wants asylum in India. I hope she gets it. She should realize what kind of fame she is getting. She will regret this when she hits 40 and if she ever has kids I wonder how she will answer them. Ufff yuck!! Recommend

    @Trick-or-Treat:
    She clearly said on the interview on GEO that the ISI tattoo was there and then later she tried to deny it by saying “oh the photo was morphed”. Kabeer Sharma convincingly said minutes later on GEO that she actually asked for the tattoo to be made bigger and it was meant to be a “joke” because everything in India is blamed on the ISI. He also said that she was very happy with the pictures in emails and there was the whole FHM team there to verify it and they have video of the shoot also. If she wants to be a nude model – and theres plenty of them in the world then go for it Veena – the pic was obviously photoshopped but only to smooth out her body – she was nude through and through. Personally, leaving religion and all aside, I think soft porn or any porn destructs the minds of the young where young boys will think all women are easy sex objects and all women will think, hey, I can make a lot of money doing this. Thats the biggest problem with this whether she meant the ISI thing to be a joke or not – Pakistan is fighting a war with extremists and the ISI is leading the charge – to make a joke of an institution that protects Pakistan is not right by any means. A womans dignity and sexuality doesnot come from showing her body to the world – it comes from being intelligent and elegant. Like my mother told me after seeing some girls wearing little skirts and tops – what you dont see is more sexy than just parading around naked. Doesnt mean put on a burka – our kurtas, shalwar kameezes, with long hair flowing. That my friends is elegance and sexy. This whole act of hers was demeaning to Pakistan. She is in India where she should be a true ambassador of Pakistan and spread the message of love and peace through decency and talent – not putting ISI on her naked body.

    Showing as yourself being free does not mean to be naked. Being dressed in respectable clothes means freedom, from a moral, human and Islamic point of view. Being naked does not mean being free, nakedness stands for imprisonment. Nakedness means that a woman has no dignity, no respect for herself and her body. The Egyptian blogger and Veena Malik (IF the pic is real and not fake) have no respect and no dignity for their selves and their bodies. For those who argue this is right, muslims and non-muslims, tell me, would u all like to see women without clothes roaming around? Do u want to create an animal civilization and culture? Animals do not wear clothes. A human being’s private parts are not to be shown in public. All people who believe in one God should realize that these sort of actions will destroy humanity, corrupt our children and make the world a whole lot worseRecommend

    From the comments above, I think most of the Pakistanis, or at least those commenting here are apostating from Islam? But yet these hypocrites won’t say they have left Islam! Who is hypocrite here, you or me?

    And she did all of this in the month of Muharram! For all those supporting her, do you have even iota of Islam left in you? Do you know what Islam is? Do Islam support such things? If you are no muslim, say loudly so, otherwise if you have apostated and still pretending to be muslim, then you are the biggest hypocrites here!

    @JudasPriest:

    why are you automatically assuming that everyone here is muslim? pakistan is a diverse country where we have hindus, christians, even pagans in the northern areas. the commentators of this page can be from any religion, or even no religion at all.

    also, nudity as such is not being progressive but accepting that there are other people who don’t agree with our thoughts is being progressive.

    @Khoso: But 98% are muslims or so they call themselves, so I expect more that 90% of the comments condemning her, but alas, I see most of the comments appreciating her. And look, I’m all for freedom or thought, but nudity, vulgarity, perversion! No!

    @JudasPriest:
    freedom is the state of where one is exempt from external control. so if one was to say that they’re for freedom and put conditions on it, how is that even freedom at the first place? freedom and tolerance will only prevail when we do what we have to and let other people do what they have to. has veena’s act changed your everyday course of affairs?

    @Khoso: Disagreed! There must be a limit applied to freedom! The act of Veena will encourage others to do the same. Its like showing an advertisement of smoking weed. Would you like your children to start smoking weed by looking at that ad? No. I bet you won’t even like your daughter to follow the footsteps of Veena. Look at her father. He must be more liberal than you, yet he disowned his daughter.

    @Khoso. Has Veena’s act changed course of affairs? Yes, It certainly will. It will encourage other girls to follower her. This will break the fabrics of our society and strong family system that we have right now. When Lindsay Lohan posed for a magazine, most of the comments were condemning her, and here our pseudo westerners are appreciating her. Brown goras! ha!

    In my views Veena’s did not do rubbish job, being a professional woman she can do that. She was not a President of Islamic bunch. In real sense she is model and model can do such photo session, it is not abominable things for model. that’s my opinion for Veena.
