A documentary by the Pakistan’s Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), titled as “Glorious Resolve” received the first prize in the International Film Festival “Eserciti-e-Popoli” (Army and People) held at Bracciano.

More than 60 films, produced by the NATO and other 24 countries were presented at the film festival.

According to an ISPR press release, Glorious Resolve received the Jury’s Special award from the President of the Italian Senate.

“(It is) a technically outstanding and emotionally powerful dramatization of the story of the courageous soldiers under fire in a dire combat situation,” the President said.

The award was received by a representative of the Pakistani Embassy in Rome.

Glorious Resolve is based on a true story about the infantry soldiers “who fought against all odds when 1500 miscreants raided one of the section level outpost of an Infantry Battalion in South Waziristan Agency on the night of 29 May 2009.”

The documentary highlights “not only the sacrifices and achievements of the Pakistan Army in War against Terrorism but also its glorious resolve to uproot the menace of terrorism from Pakistan.”

Glorious Resolve recreates the sacrifice of 43 soldiers of the Punjab Regiment who laid their lives during the attack.

I am a proud Pakistani that we have an Army which cannot be matched with any other army in the world.
This is one of the reasons that many countries send their soldiers to Pakistan to get them trained in a real professional manner.
The sacrifices made by our Army Jawans will always be remembered by the nation.
Thank you Pakistan Army. It is only because of you people that we sleep comfortably in the cities while the Jawans of Pakistan Army and other armed forces stand alert to safe guard the country.
I salute you, my dear Jawans of Pakistan Army and personnel of Navy and Air Force.

    @Umair Waheed Sheikh:
Normally the people who have the guts to criticize the armed forces in any country are the people who lack guts in real life. For ages warriors and soldiers have been seen as heroes, for their’s is the biggest sacrifice; putting their life on the line for an ideal or a concept. Those who died in those incidents were of the same mettle.
Where would you and I hide listening to the almost routine gun shots out in the street??? Yet they stay out there and take a bullet for us.
We are a corrupt nation, our saving grace are these men in uniform, be they police, rangers or soldiers, who sacrifice…regardless of what the intentions of the high ups might be and how dispensable they might be considered by anyone.

They died….U ever had any resolve in your life??? please share your storyRecommend

Now I know why NATO attacked our Pak army post!!! :/ They are jealous!!! Humour aside, this a really proud moment for Pakistan – taking 1st position for an army documentary on an international level, is no easy task – especially with all the disinformation and media brain washing going on worldwide.. Pak Army deserves this coverage way more than any other force.. they’ve worked in the background & sacrificed much for the US’s so-called ‘war on terror’, and for too long now.. They deserve even more recognition and rewards! This is just the start NATO, learn to gulp the reality down!Recommend

    “miscreants”

The word sounds weird and even antiquated but is actually the correct usage of the word by the Pak Army.

One of the meanings of the word is: “holding a false or unorthodox religious belief; heretical. ”

And I think that the people the Pakistan Army and government is forced to fight definitely fit that description.
