ABBOTABAD:

To maintain calm across the Hazara Division during the upcoming Islamic month of Muharram, the divisional administration on Friday have decided to seek military’s support.

The announcement was made during a meeting chaired by Hazara Commissioner Khalid Khan Umerzai. The participants discussed the security arrangements in detail, during which the administration conceded that Mansehra District was the most sensitive one in terms of terrorist threats, followed by Haripur.

It was decided that military troops would be put on high alert to reinforce the police and Frontier Corps personnel in case of any law and order situation during the month.

The participants also agreed to cancel the leaves and public holidays of security personnel, doctors and paramedical staff during the month.

Deputy Inspector General of Police Dr Naeem Khan, district coordination officers, district police officers and officials of intelligence agencies were among those who attended the meeting.
