Security operation: Six militants killed in Orakzai Agency

One security personnel injured during exchange of fire in Taasa area.

PESHAWAR: Six militants were killed in a clash between the security forces and the militants in the Taasa area of Upper Orakzai Agency on Sunday, said sources.


According to sources, one member of the security forces was also injured during the exchange of fire.


Security forces also launched their advance around five days ago in the Dabori areas of Upper Orakzai and its surrounding region to flush out the militants.

The areas have been closed and no one is being allowed to enter or exit the areas.

Earlier on Saturday, the security forces claimed to have killed 10 militants and destroyed at least three of their hideouts.

Security sources also claimed to have captured four strategic militant hideouts in the Akhund Kot area of Mamozai after a battle with militants and also claimed to have recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from these hideouts.
