A group of men allegedly stole several goats, cotton bales and destroyed a local landlord’s tube well on Saturday.

According to police officials, 20 accused stole goats and destroyed a tube well belonging to local landlord Muhammad Ajmal. “The accused blamed Muhammad for having killed a close relative and destroyed his property to seek revenge,” said inspector Latif Batool.

Accused Gul Muhammad, Abdul Ghafoor, Muhammad Ramzan, Luqman, Laal, Mahinwal, Huq Bukhsh, Ayub, Shabbir, Saddique, Sultan, Mumtaz Ahmed, Hafeez, Shahnawaz, Nawaz, Farooq, Manzoor Ahmed and others allegedly threatened Muhammad Ajmal and his father Faiz.  Moza Dera Dahraan resident Muhammad Ajmal told police that Gul Muhammad and Abdul Ghafoor had accused him of having killed their brother last year. “I wasn’t even in the city when it happened and the rumors are that they killed him over property,” he said, adding “They stole my goats and my cotton and destroyed my tube well.”

Ajmal said that when he tried to stop them they held him at gun point and said that this was ‘payment for what he had done’.

“They told me to sell my land and leave the area or they would kill me,” Ajmal said.  Police officials have started an investigation on the application of the complainant and are searching for the accused. Ajmal has also appealed to the Rahim Yar Khan District Police Officer to provide him with security.
