LAHORE: Former chief minister Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa told the Lahore High Court on Wednesday that he had not seen his ex-wife Zeba Khan alias Sapna Khan since they got divorced in June, shortly before the actress disappeared.

The court is hearing a habeus corpus petition for the recovery of Khan and her daughter, allegedly from Khosa’s custody.

Khosa submitted in an affidavit that he had divorced Khan on June 19, 2011, a year and 17 days after they were married.

He said he had divorced her because of her “constant disobedience” and their regular fighting. He said that they had reached an agreement at their divorce that he would have custody of their then four-month-old daughter Mah Gul.

According to their marriage registration certificate, Khosa was 37 at the time of the nikah and already married. Khan was 23.

Khosa’s counsel said that his client had no knowledge of his ex-wife’s whereabouts. He alleged that she was in the custody of her sister Hina Khan.

Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed adjourned the hearing till November 28 and directed the petitioner to file a rejoinder.

Muhammad Azhar Siddique said in his petition that Khan was last seen being beaten up by friends of the former chief minister, forcibly separated from her daughter, and bundled into a car at their GOR-1 residence on June 22, 2011. Her sister Hina Khan later joined the petition as a party and wrote to the chief justice of Pakistan seeking his help for her recovery.
