LAHORE: Five hundred teachers in Lahore were compelled to celebrate their Eid without their salaries due to negligence from the office of the accountant general of Punjab.

The manual bills of wages of 500 female teachers employed at Government Colleges for Women in Samanabad, Gulberg and Cooper Road were misplaced. The Punjab Professors and Lecturers Association have warned that they will boycott colleges throughout the province if salaries of these teachers are not paid by November 12.

Earlier on November 1, hundreds of teachers from the University of Agriculture in Faisalabad had staged a demonstration within the campus against the non-payment of increased salaries to university employees.
