MANSEHRA: A married woman was axed to death over a minor dispute in the jurisdiction of the Shinkari police station on Wednesday. Police reported the victim’s mother, Said Wali of Kalas Bichari, as saying he married off his 16 year old daughter to Muhammad Asat nine month ago. On several occasions, she complained of poor treatment she received at the behest of her husband and in-laws but was persuaded by Wali to stay at her in-laws. On Wednesday morning some villagers informed him that Gultaj Bibi was injured; upon arrival, he found her dead with deep cuts on her neck, face and other body parts suggesting she had been attacked with an axe and club. The body was transported to a hospital where, upon an autopsy, doctors confirmed the victim tied of multiple wounds inflicted by a sharp-edged weapon. The complainant named Asmat as a suspect in the murder of his daughter, said a police while talking to The Express Tribune.
