Sugar: TCP to purchase 200,000 tons

Those mills who defaulted on payments to TCP would not be eligible to participate in the tender.

The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP), in response to government directives, has issued a tender for purchase of 200,000 tons of sugar, which will be opened on November 12.


According to a TCP announcement on Thursday, bids should be for a minimum quantity of 5,000 tons and maximum 20,000 tons of white sugar packed in polypropylene woven sacks, as per detailed specifications and quality standards.

TCP said member mills of the Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) would participate in the tender, however, those mills who defaulted on payments to TCP would not be eligible.

Detailed terms and conditions of the tender could be purchased from TCP’s offices in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad from November 4, it said.
