ISLAMABAD: China is Pakistan’s real all-weather friend and Pakistanis have a lot of respect and love for the country, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf Chairperson Imran Khan has said.

Imran, whose party organised a massive rally in Lahore on Sunday, is visiting mighty neighbour China at the invitation of the Communist Party of China and will be in the country for two days.

Speaking to reporters at the Lahore airport on Monday, Imran had said in China he will observe how that country managed to pull out a large chunk of its population from the clutches of poverty.

In his meetings with the party’s leaders, he said that Pakistan and especially PTI has a lot to learn from the Chinese, particularly on the fronts of poverty alleviation, anti-corruption measures and accountability of officials and party leaders.

The leaders also agreed on cooperation between the CPC and PTI, including PTI sending members of its think tank teams to China to learn about the Chinese experience and model.

Good statement . In 1950s America tried to get Pakistan to join the anti china block and ally with basket case india luckily za Bhutto stopped that. Again we have another weak secular president trying to do the same.
Pakistan and china friendship as huge potential Pakistan is rich in minerals, farmland and dairy products and china is rich with cash investment and techinical expertise

Its really good to see CPC providing help to structure PTI. I believe this is what PTI needs, the structure of organization as so far its one man show only which is not bad until its just for jalsa but to be successful, PTI needs to become organization like any other successful political party in Pakistan or in west.

I also believe that, Establishment from the back has asked CPC to do that else otherwise why CPC is providing this help now and not before that? But even if it does, it is good for country. We need CHANGE and that is imran khan only for now.

And Chinese achieved their society through fundamental reform by bloody revolution with sole focus on China.

Both China and Japan achieved their progress with American help and market system adapted for their country.

Change comes from bottom up, and China is no exception. Is PAK ready for bottom up change? It should have happened long time ago but doubt it will ever happen.Recommend

    @csmann,

    From your news source:

Sources in the finance ministry told The Express Tribune that top government officials made the request…

Clearly, you are unaware of the divide between those 100 or so people in the ‘government’ and the rest of the 180 million people in Pakistan.

Fact of the matter is, the IMF Funds dont even trickle down onto the masses that are currently attempting suicides due to extreme hardships.

The reason for this is corruption, ineffective and incompetent governance, which is also referenced in the article you posted:

The IMF had refused to release them after Pakistan failed to meet the conditions of fiscal and energy sector reforms…

Now be it China or US, everyone knows of the weak government. But right now the question the Government is thinking is who could exploit this situation? China or US? It has to be said that US has history in giving money out blindly to pull foreign governments in its favour and doing what they want there, regardless of whether the money achieves its aims. This strings attached Aid is a curse which only favours the Pakistan Governement.

As for your comment, China could have done the same, but only if it was’nt our true friend.

China do not have blasphemy laws, moulvis, mullahs, taliban, Let etc.etc. They will just hang these persons. China means business, they will not hesitate to liquidate all religious fundamentalists. China will not allow break in work 5 times a day for conducting prayers. Religion is the last thing in the Chinese society.
