Heavy showers expected in coastal areas of Sindh: Met Office

Chief Meteorologist Naeem Shah says rain will hit Karachi and other flood-hit areas of the province.

KARACHI: Meteorological Office has forecasted a cyclone in the Arabian Sea due to decreasing wind pressure, Express 24/7 reported Monday.

The cyclone is expected to cause heavy rainfall in Karachi and other coastal areas of Sindh.

Chief Meteorologist Naeem Shah said that there is a forecast of heavy rains in Sindh for the next two days due to the formation of a Somali Jet System in the Arabian Sea.

Shah said that the rain will hit Karachi and other flood-hit areas of the province.

He said that the low pressure is currently building up off the coast of Salalah in Oman.

The met office issues a warning for fishermen to not to go in to deep waters between Tuesday and Saturday.

The expected rain is likely to increase the problems of the flood victims who are living in relief camps.
