KARACHI: Rangers have been deployed in all industrial zones of Karachi and Rangers information cell has been set up to help the industrialists and to reduce the crime in the area, said Director General Sindh Rangers, Brigadier Ijaz Chaudhry.

He said this during a meeting with Bin Qasim Association of Trade and Industry on Wednesday. Security issues of Bin Qasim Industrial Zone and security proposals including deployment of Rangers personnel in Bin Qasim area were discussed in the meeting.

Chaudhry said that despite shortage of manpower, they are trying their utmost to improve the law and order situation in industrial zones. He stressed over the need for industrialists to improve their internal security system and was of the view that combined efforts can improve the situation. He suggested that industrialists should install electronic surveillance systems outside their industries to improve the security system.

“Rangers are not here to replace the police and neither can we stabilise the situation on our own,” Chaudhry said, adding that crime cannot be eliminated completely but it could be reduced by taking appropriate measures.

law enforcement is not their job. in the medium to long run, this is going to further deteriorate their expected core competence and capbilities.
