FAISALABAD: City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad Rae Tahir has ordered an inquiry against seven police officers including Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Sadar for illegally detaining a citizen. Wali Muhammad resident moved an application before the CPO, alleging that Sadar police, on behalf of Motor Showroom owner Haneef Abbasi, had arrested his son Abdul Hameed and kept him in illegal detention for over two days. He said that his son ran a grocery shop at his house and the police was demanding payment of Rs5.265 million for Abbasi. When Hameed refused, a case was registered against him. The CPO ordered Superintendent Police (SP) Iqbal Town to initiate an inquiry into the matter and submit a detailed report on the results of the investigation to him within a week.
