Baloch missing persons: Body of Baloch National Movement leader found

The bodies were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital Khuzdar for autopsy.

Two more bullet-riddled bodies, including that of a Baloch National Movement (BNM) leader, were found in the Arbab complex of Khuzdar on Monday, police said.


As many as six dead bodies of Baloch missing persons have so far been found in different parts of Balochistan in the past three days. A police official said the police was on routine patrol when they spotted bodies dumped near Arbab complex. The bodies were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital Khuzdar for autopsy.

An official of the Khuzdar police station, Dur Mohammad, said that the deceased were identified as Baloch National Movement’s (BNM) vice president of the Mashkey area, Rashid Ali, and his friend Shahfi Mohammad, a resident of Anjira area of Kalat District. “The victims were shot in the head and chest, and their bodies bore multiple marks of torture,” hospital sources said.

Shahfi Mohammad was whisked away from Karachi around six months ago, while the BNM leader was nabbed on August 17 en route to Karachi, according to the police.

Meanwhile, four bodies of Baloch missing persons, including that of a Baloch Watan Movement leader, were found in Teshsil Bhagbana area of Khuzdar District, some 310 kilometres south of Quetta on Sunday.

As many as 204 bullet-riddled and mutilated bodies of Baloch missing persons have so far been found during the last 14 months. The victims were directly or indirectly affiliated with Baloch nationalist parties or Baloch student organisations.

Every one should realise that it is high time to stop the History of East Pakisthan repeating itself here in Baluchisthan. Those who do not learn from history and do not act wisely shall be condemned to under go a repetition with disastrous consequences.

Balochistan belongs to the Baloch only.
